Adhesive-lined heat shrink tubing has an additional inner adhesive layer, which makes it suitable for use in installations exposed to unfavourable external conditions, as well as those operating underground. The outer layer shrinks when heated, just like standard heat shrink tubing, while the inner adhesive layer melts and spreads, filling all gaps and ensuring a very precise adhesion to the wires along their entire length. Commonly known as dual wall, adhesive lined heat shrink tubing has two layers – a standard outer wall made of cross-linked polyolefin and an inner wall made of a mixture of flexible adhesives. By heating the tubing from the centre towards the edges, air bubbles trapped under the surface are avoided and a precise seal is achieved. We offer thin wall heat shrink tubing with a shrink ratio of 3:1 and 4:1. The higher shrink ratio allows for covering larger items with different diameters using a single tubing. We also offer heat shrink tubing with a higher shrink temperature and therefore higher temperature resistance, suitable for more extreme conditions. The walls of those products are usually thicker, which makes them more resistant to mechanical damage such as abrasion.
